Local perk

A local perk is a deal near your customer — a discount at a business close to where they are, surfaced automatically in a dedicated section of your perk page.

Local perks are their own entity, separate from your regular perks, and they live only on your perk pages — the embedded and hosted surfaces render the "near you" section for you. They're not a surface you integrate through the API. (Regular perks carry their own locations describing where an offer is redeemable — that's part of the perk model itself; a local perk is the geo-aware section, not that field.)

Local perks are a US-only feature, enabled per collection. If you want your page to show a local section, your Paylode contact turns it on for that collection — we'll help you set it up.

How it works

When a customer opens your perk page, the local section resolves where they are from their IP address, using IP geolocation — no prompt, no browser permission, no work in your integration. The customer can also pick a city themselves if the resolved location isn't right.

Paylode then shows the deals within a search radius around that point — roughly 50 miles today — sorted by distance, closest first, each with the brand, the deal, how near it is, and the usual tracked Redeem link. The section names the resolved location ("deals near Atlanta") so the customer always knows what they're looking at.

note

The US-only scope and the search radius describe how local perks behave today, not a fixed contract — treat them as current behavior. If your program depends on a specific radius or coverage area, confirm it with your Paylode contact.

Keeping the section on-brand

Local perks are sourced for you, so the exact deals shift over time. You control what's appropriate for your audience with per-collection keyword include and exclude lists — set up with your Paylode contact alongside the feature itself.
